But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
Romans 8:9
We must be born of the spirit.
The Holy Spirit doing a work in our hearts so deep and so powerful that we are made new and holy. Unless you are made holy you will never see God. Unless you are Born again by the eternal Spirit of God you will never enter the Kingdom of God.
This deep and true and real life is imparted only by the Spirit of God.
It is the Holy Spirit who Quickens us to make us alive spiritually.
The old time preachers call this regeneration.
It means your spirit which was dead and evil is made alive. It is the grace of God and the action of the Holy Spirits opening my spiritual eyes to see, and imparting saving Faith to me so I can believe.
The Holy Spirit creates in you a desire to be Godly, a desire to live right and to please to God. A desire to listen to His instruction, to value His wisdom. If there was no work of Gods Spirit in Me I would never listen, I would not be interested, I would not understand.
But Oh when the Gracious Merciful Holy Spirit starts working in me I can hear with the inner ear, I can see with the inner eye. I can believe, and call upon the only name that can save.
It’s the blessed Holy Spirit that transforms our lives. He is the one that causes us to grow in grace. Sanctifies and sets us apart to be vessels of honour. Don’t you desire to be like Jesus. Holy and pure. A true sign you are a child of God is spiritual growth.
The Spirit of Prayer and Supplication. Is a sure sign of true conversion
Paul the Apostle was converted and as soon as he was converted we read Paul prayed. When Ananias was praying the Lord said go to the street straight there you will find Saul of Tarsus Behold He is praying. This convinced Ananias. The Lords elect cry out to Him day and night.
Gal 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
It’s a sure sign that someone is truly saved when they begin to pray. It’s a sure sign, The spirit of thanksgiving, with thanksgiving we make our requests made known. We are vigilant in prayer with thanksgiving.
Jesus our Lord received the Spirit without measure…. we read and see how he spent whole nights in prayer, How he arose early before dawn to pray. How he went to the mountain to pray. You and I are partakers of the same Spirit , it stands to reason that as we are partakers of the same Spirit, prayer will be in our lives, A deep desire to spend time in the presence of our Father. A delight to draw near to our Lord. 1 Timothy 2:8 (KJV) 8 I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
A mark of one who is born of God does not commit sin.
The bible says that whatever is born of God does not sin, does not practice sin. Im not saying they never sin, rather they don’t deliberately and wilfully practice sin as a way of life. Even christians often stumble and fall and offend in many things. It’s true that even a born again man can fall, just look at the apostle Peter denying the Lord 3 times, look at adultery of David in the old testament.
The person who is born again of the Spirit is distressed if they were to fall into sin, they are pained and heart broken, sorrowful and come by faith to the throne of Grace for forgiveness and apply the blood of Jesus to be washed clean, then they are extra careful they don’t want to do that sin again. They long to be victorious over it.
A mark that we may know if we have been Born again. Is our conquest over the world.
You realise that there are some that want everyone to like them and affirm them. They get upset when the people of the world don’t love them. John 15:19 (BBE)19 If you were of the world, you would be loved by the world: but because you are not of the world, but I have taken you out of the world, you are hated by the world.
I John 5:4 For whatever is born of God is victorious over the world; 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
The whole desire of a born again man is for above and not beneath, rather the things of this world are strangely dim.
But this person doesn’t neglect his earthly work and duties, no they work hard to provide for their family. But they know they are just pilgrims that their home is out of this world. Yes they live in this world but they are not of this world. They value God’s approval more than man’s approval. They want to please God not only be man pleasers.
