Maua

Pastors Welcome Maua

The warmth and welcome of the Kenyan people, is almost impossible to match anywhere in the world.  A long way before the entrance to the city over 25 pastors met us in their cars and then escorted us through the city while thousands lined the streets waving and smiling.  As we drove passed a busy market my heart was touched as the many mamas started cheering with the typical “kililele” and waving with a big smile shouting karibu karibu to Maua.  Many remembered the 2007 meetings saying welcome back.

The city stadium is right next door to the government offices and we made a courtesy visit to the District Commissioner, a wonderful born again Christian.  We later were honoured as he came to the evening banquet bringing his three children.  It was significant to have the head of the police the judiciary, the mayor and many other important offices present at the banquet.

The next morning we began the seminars.  The theme was “Pathway to the Glory”.   We all want the fire of God in our lives it was a simple clear message.   Fire falls on an altar that has a sacrifice on it.  What is the sacrifice that God sends His fire on?  “SELF” We have to put self on the altar.  Selfish people are not used by the Lord.  Selfish people do not think of others only themselves.  Selfish people have selfish ambitions.  James 3:16 For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.  God anoints those that live to serve others.  If we want to be great in Gods kingdom we have to serve others.  The Word of God was well received.

The meetings however were not without opposition. Someone filed a court order to stop the meetings.  Some of the committee rushed to the relevant offices and came back smiling that it had been quashed and we were able to continue with the gospel preaching in the stadium.

On the final day with the stadium packed with 18000 people a group of Moslems came into disturb.

Day One of the crusade started with a good turnout of about 3000 people.  I spoke on the Lord cleansing His temple and turning over the tables of the money changers.  The question was asked, “was there a day Jesus came to your temple, to your life and cleaned it out and drove out all evil.  If not then I doubt you understood the Gospel”.  The entire crowd knelt down of the field rededicating their lives to the Lord, asking the Lord to cleanse them from every sinful habit they had allowed in their lives.  Then I made a call for those who had never ever asked the Lord into their lives.  I said, “no 50 % commitment, if you are only prepared to make a 50% commitment stay where you are,  but if you are willing to give 100% commitment to the Lord COME”. What a joy to see streams of men come forward and teenage and older boys, women and girls as well.  The Lord had truly touched hearts and there was a genuine turning from darkness to light.

How shall they get saved if they cannot hear the Word of God?  It all begins with someone preaching to them.    While I was preaching the intercessors led by Shireen were interceding.  Every day a company of prayer warriors gathered behind the stage and prayed the people into the kingdom.  They were such a dedicated team.  They prayed down the glory and the presence of the Lord and it was tangible each evening.  It was so glorious.

On Friday night after a powerful time of worship, we prayed for the nation and for the much needed rain for the country.    The Pastors Fellowship organised this crusade for us.  They were the most wonderful team of brothers that we worked with.  They got all the publicity done and the training of the counsellors and praise and worship teams.  It was a great encouragement for us all to see the evangelists and the pastors working together to win the city.  We love them and will visit them again next year.

On Saturday morning on one side of town was a woman’s meeting with Shireen, and on another side a men’s meeting with me.  I have seldom felt the tangible presence of God so strong in a meeting.  The Spirit of God touched and ministered.

On the Saturday evening a riot took place on the hill side next to stadium.  However the riot did not stop the meeting and I preached a clear salvation message and saw many of the young men that were just standing around lift their hands and surrender their lives to Jesus.

As part of our morning seminar we showed some powerful teachings on DVDs.  The response was overwhelming from the Pastors, there was such a tremendous hunger for good teaching.   Monthly we will now send teachings to the Pastors Fellowship so they can build up material for a good teaching library.

On Sunday night at about 11 pm it began to rain over the city.  The first in 3 months.  The people saw this as a sign and a wonder.  Both physical and spiritual rain is falling over Kenya.  Africa is being saved.
